Family – today the word “family” is a hotbed of confusion. What is family? Is “traditional family” the only acceptable family in God’s view? When you study His Word from beginning to end, alpha to omega, you will see a wider variety of family structures than you may think. There were (and still are, He is the same yesterday, today and forever – Hebrews 13:8) certainly specific boundaries in place that make it clear what was (is) and was not (is not) acceptable, but much of the family structure was influenced by the existing culture, just as it is today. Regardless of the shifting family structure in the Old Testament, Jesus rocked that structure significantly when His time on earth changed everything from the way men were to treat women to THE WAY His followers were to regard God as their Father. The family of faith became the key structure over the family of origin for a follower of The Way.

As a value, the UA Network TV views family in three important aspects:
• Family of God: you, our viewers, are an extension of our family as we are joint-heirs of His Kingdom, a part of the family of God!

• Family of Friends – Seekers of Significance: maybe you haven’t quite walked the bridge of the Cross yet, but you are seeking, questioning and through viewing the programming on our network some of your questions are being answered. • Family of Traditional Values: you are in search of good, quality inoffensive television entertainment your entire family can enjoy together. We strive to bring that quality to you day in and day out. That’s Our Job!
Entertainment – means many things to many people. For us, it means bringing a variety of wholesome entertainment to you; appropriate for anyone in your home! We air wonderful classics such as The Beverly Hillbillies to cutting edge current programming such as….. All programming we air is hand-picked by our staff with YOU and YOUR FAMILY in the forefront of our mind! That’s Our Job!

• Education – often when we see this word the traditional school age years and settings come to mind. Education starts when we are born and should continue until we die! As parents we are commissioned to educate our children, as ministry leaders we are commissioned to educate God’s people, as business leaders we are commissioned to educate our staff and our consumer. When Jesus was only 12 years old, Luke chapter 2 (41-52) tells us the story of his parents finding him in the temple “sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.” The chapter ends with verse 52 – “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” We can think of no better clarifying statement for the value of education than Luke 2:52. If Jesus found education vital to his earthly growth, then by all means we should find it valuable as well! Education is an underlying value in everything we do at UA Network TV! Some programming is full-on educational such as our cooking show…. Or Storm Stories. All of our teaching and preaching programming is founded on the value of education as the basis for life in Christ. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 8:1 – “…We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up”. It is our goal to always educate you through the agape love of God to build you up!

Maybe not every program in our “entertainment” category seems educational but we think there’s always a thing or two we can learn from Jed and Granny! Faith, Family, Entertainment and Education are so interwoven into the fabric or our UA Network TV value system that we hope to never offer you one without offering you all four! That’s our job!
